Race - ABC

America saved the colour "white" with the shepherd dog.  After it was banished in the thirties from Germany, it found friends very fast in the USA and Canada.  The white one was further-bred there and recognized by the American Kennel club 1971 as German White Shepard.  Still today all white shepherd dogs come from the earliest and best German shepherds.

Darkly and not without pigment as with Albinos are eyes and   nose.  The contrast to radiating the white skin gives the face a particularly expressive appearance.  The white skin is thus not with that of a Albinos, but rather to be compared with the skin colour of other white dog races (pointed) too.

Education begins already with the young dog.  The work-joyful ancestor of the active herd guardians is a self-confident animal, which requires a consistent integration into the family.  He should become acquainted with taboos and obligations in earliest youth.  Due to his intelligence and learning readiness he learns track vintages, a guarding, a protecting, retrieve and every other dog-fair task within shortest time.

 Skin colour is always white.  The undercoat is soft and short,the cover hair is close, straight and rests firmly against the body.  Around the rod the skin is puffed, also at neck and chest grows longer hair.

 Society is anyway already important for the herd animal dog, with the white shepherd has it elementary meaning.  He descends finally from dogs, which guarded herds of sheep around the clock with their humans.  The connection to humans or a family carries out itself in the first year of life and holds for the rest of its life

 Guarding was the life purpose of the shepherd dogs, before they were explained at all as the race.  In order to accompany herds over large distances, the work dogs had to be fast and persistent.  Therefore   the "aerodynamic" body form and the central long strong runs developed automatically because only so built dogs can run for hours, without getting exhausted.

 Young animals should join their new and final home between the eights and twelfths week of their life’s   . They need the mother and brothers and sisters before, in order to hold "dog" communication.  Who decides thus for this race, it should know that he can live with his dog at least twelve years.

 The dog with the strong guardian instinct loves and cares for children gladly.  He loves also eddies and full of temper .  It does not take inadvertent crude grasping badly of children under any circumstances.  By its balanced character it has a high threshold of sensation and keeps the nerves also in crisis situations.  While handling children it appears extremely prudently, carefully and patiently.  It expects this circumspection in addition, in handling it.  Impatient commanding and a hard hand destroy the confidence of the white one to humans and results in its stubbornness

 Run belonged to the basic needs of this race.  They were bred as long-distance runners and should be able to run at least one hour on the day freely.  Bicycle-drive starting from the first year of life makes for it fun likewise.  The white shepherd dogs are inspired sportsmen, who estimate long mountain tours and make on the "Agility-Place"  a just as good figure, as in other dog sports.

 Care does not need the double skin special.  Strong brushing once per week strengthens the skin blood circulation and facilitates the all-season constant skin change.  In the case of strong contamination washing off with clear water is completely enough

 Rescue relays estimate the white one, because he keeps his iron nerves in seismic zones, fire disasters without showing exhaustion, for hours .Its sovereigns peace makes it the outstanding dog for blind and disabled people.

 Family trees recognize neither the federation for the German dog nature still roof world-wide organization FCI on, but continue to fight the breeders and associations for an admission, how them already took place in other European countries.  One can hope only, that the white one in the near future gains in Germany the entitled acknowledgment of the FCI. Meanwhile the race is registered by VDH and FCI unter the name “White Swiss Shepherd”.

Temperatures leave the white ones cold.  It stands heat and cold weather equivalent well.  The skin which is closely because of the body adjusts strong variations in temperature optimally.  It is water-rejecting and leaves rains simple out of its fur.

Some representatives of this race can develop bad habits, if they are badly or not at all educated.  How all customs dogs need it a meaningful occupation and a varied everyday life, which stress its senses and muscles fully.  Common going for a walk or also the work at a dog place provides for balanced and happy character.

Compatibility is one of the strongest virtues of the noble white one.  It shows much tolerance opposite others.  In many households with white shepherd dogs live also cats, guinea pigs and rabbits.  The hunt impulse is not strongly pronounced.  Nevertheless it can also, if it were not consistently educated, hardly resist a pursuit with some red deer.

White is genetically recessive in relation to dark colours.  That means that white shepherd dogs are only born if also the parent animals have passed on the white colour

 Kennel attitude is poison for the white shepherd dog.  It needs his family, its reference person around itself.  During isolation it becomes inevitably distrustful and inaccessible.  Therefore respectable breeders dissociate themselves from kennel attitude both from attained full growth and from puppies.
